SOBER LIVING FOR FAMILIES
Since 2010, Pay It Forward SA has been committed to helping individuals experiencing homelessness and in recovery from substance use disorders reclaim their lives and build a brighter, self-sufficient future.
This year, we’re inviting you to help us pilot a vital new initiative: a sober living program for families.
While treatment is a crucial first step toward recovery, it’s only part of the journey. To truly rebuild their lives—finding stable housing, meaningful work, and lasting healing—individuals need continued support. Yet, in Bexar County, no residential programs currently exist that allow families to stay together during this critical time.
The need is urgent: 126,319 children in Texas live with a parent who has a substance use disorder and more than half of child deaths in the state involve a caregiver who was using or under the influence of substance.
A sober living program for families will address these heartbreaking realities by providing a safe, supportive environment where parents and children can stay together while overcoming homelessness and substance use disorders—building a foundation for a stronger healthier future.

Right now, parents facing homelessness and substance use recovery have no place to turn that offers both the services they need and the chance to keep their children with them.
Our family sober living program will provide stable housing, a supportive community, and wraparound services to help parents heal while children remain safe and cared for.
